Pastor
The one I’m preaching on that week!
Mowing lawns: I mow my lawn, and three of my neighbors! I love it! Text me: I’ll be over to mow your lawn, too!
North Hills is a unique, authentic community that’s in a class all by itself. I love the people, the love, the mission, communion services, the worship. And I love answering questions about the wheat sculpture!

Director of Youth and Administration
1 Corinthians 13:4 – I think it’s beautiful poetry, and it makes me tear up every time I hear it at a wedding (including at my own)!
I love to run, workout, swim, be with friends and family, try delicious restaurants in the area, visit northern Michigan, and go to concerts.
North Hills is special to me because my son, Sebastian, has blossomed into such a sweet, social, and smart boy during his time as a daycare and preschool student for the past 3 years, and I can tell the church network is awesome as well from meeting members and staff. I am excited to help continue to strengthen the connection between the daycare & church communities.

Philippians 2:9–11
When I am not at North Hills, I am probably spending quality time with my wife or my friends, thinking about the next choir anthem or social media series, or writing about Stoic philosophy.
“North Hills” is synonymous with community. A church isn’t a building, it is a people, and North Hills is always people-first.

Organist
Micah 6:8
David and I love to travel, especially to be involved with grandchildren in Kalamazoo, Vermont, and Brooklyn, NY. We also relish being part of Dearborn, walking our neighborhood and exploring the culture and diversity of SE-MI.
I like to shop at thrift stores to help supply CAP (Community Assistance Program), a ministry close to our hearts for many decades.
Reading is an ongoing hobby, recent recommendations include Solito and Demon Copperhead.
North Hills continues to be a fulfilling place to serve as the organist since being “recruited” almost 20 years ago. Helping plan and lead worship with this congregation who loves to sing is a true gift and a highlight of my week.

I take Genesis 1 & 2 to heart). I read a fascinating book that connected the Creation to work and made me see that everything we do is in service to God. I may not be able to preach and lead a church, but my career is no less a calling.
When I’m not at North Hills, I’m the Parish Accountant at National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica in Royal Oak. I love being with my family. Playing card games, running errands, camping. It doesn’t matter, as long as we’re together. When I have free time, I love to read. I prefer nonfiction to fiction. My favorite topic is Medieval England, but I’ll read about anything. I’m also John’s chauffeur and can probably get to Pontiac Yacht Club in my sleep!
The people! It’s a true family of faith that I’m proud to be part of.
Vanessa Dietderich
Child Care Center Director
Proverbs 31:25-26
When I am not at North Hills I can be found at home reading, working on projects, traveling or trying out new restaurants with my husband Andrew. I enjoy spending time with my daughters Layla (20) and Taegan (16) and snuggling my Staffy Luna.
North Hills is special because from the moment you walk in you can feel that this is a place of love, joy and nurturing.
